If you are new here (WELCOME!!!)!👋My name is Janelle and I’m the Owner and Lead Planner of Blissfully Elegant Events! BE was built from a life long dream of Planning and Coordinating Weddings! I love making personal connections with my couples and walking with them through all of the steps to their wedding day! It is my pleasure to go above and beyond to ensure that you feel supported and like you have a wedding planning bestie by your side! (Note: I overuse exclamation points! 😆)

Here are some fun facts about me and BE:

🎀 I wrote my Business Plan at Cal Poly SLO on owning a Wedding Planning Company in SF (funny enough named “An Elegant Event”). Back then, I thought getting my start in the hotel industry would naturally springboard me into Wedding Planning 😆. While I did get a ton of Event and Sales experience, it is a very scary thing to leave your well paying 9-5 to start your own company.

🎀 In 2017, I was very fortunate to work with my friend as she started her wedding business so I could Lead Weddings on the weekends and still work my M-F day job.

🎀 As luck would have it, the pandemic would push me in the direction of finally living my dream (through SF Hotel layoffs 🙃).

🎀 With unending determination & the support of my Fiance (now husband) BE was officially born!

🎀 Three years ago today (1/27/22), my business application for Blissfully Elegant Events LLC was approved in the State of CA!

🎀 Fun Facts about me:

I ❤️ dogs! My Soul Dog, Sasha (the Morkie) is one of the loves of my life!

I ❤️ to cook & bake! Almost every week I bake a new recipe (it soothes me)

I got married on 10/21/23 and have 2 wonderful Stepkiddos

When I’m not working a wedding, you will find me binge watching shows, having a beer at a brewery, wine tasting, hanging with my family or traveling

I have been told I have a calming presence under pressure (must be residual from my lifeguard days in high school) ☺️

I have never been happier in my life now that I can help Couples Plan their dream Weddings and make sure their day is as stress free as possible! My passion is all things WEDDINGS!!!

It may be raining outside, but the memories of Allie & John’s Wine Country Wedding in Lodi are giving me the feels 🥹. It is truly something special when 38 of your loved ones fly across the country to live your Dream California Wedding (did I mention the Couple lives in Indianapolis)! Fun Fact: The Bride chopped her hair after the Ceremony for a fun surprise for her Groom & all of the Guests!!!

Still dreaming about last weekend’s gorgeous Lodi Wedding! Let talk Mom’s attire at your Wedding…

I have had a few frantic calls lately from Brides stressed about how to handle what their Mom or their partner’s Mom wants to wear for their Wedding. Either Mom wants to wear black, red, short dress, patterns etc and you are terrified that her choice will look off for the overall aesthetic of the day. Depending on your relationship with your or your partner’s Mom, it may be a delicate situation.

You want your Mom to feel special on your Wedding day but this may be the first time she is shopping for a formal dress for this kind of occasion. See the slides to get some suggestions on how to approach finding Mom a dress.

Note: Let’s say worst case scenario happens and she chooses something you just don’t love and won’t change her mind, you will have to let it go (unless it is white or off white, those are non-negotiable). At a certain point, you just can’t worry about it anymore. She will be in a few photos but otherwise, it is your day and you can’t let something like a dress ruin it for you. It may drive you nuts, but is it worth your sanity? No. Take a deep breath and move on (as hard as it may be).

One thing I do remind my Brides is that you want Mom to feel comfortable. You want her to feel her best on the Wedding Day! Hopefully, she is open to some guidance and chooses a dress both of you love! Your day will be wonderful either way because you are marrying the love of your life!

Every time I visit @_rustyspursranch I am reminded just how beautiful and serene this venue in Northern California is.

The property offers cozy cabins for Wedding Guests to stay in and the Wedding a couple gets a whole weekend to celebrate with their friends.

The Pavilion offers an elegant and rustic location for a reception overlooking the pond.

WHAT DO I DO??? 😮 You finally got to the finish line but you feel off. You feel like maybe it's all been a little too easy...(or maybe not, but you still feel like you are forgetting something).

Here are some tips to help you figure out what to do that last few days before you walk down the aisle. 🙂

“I’m having a smaller wedding at a family member’s property, I don’t think I need a Month Of Coordinator”…I heard this recently on a Discovery Call and I can tell you, YOU DEFINITELY need a Coordinator!

There is sometimes a misconception that if your wedding is smaller, you do not need someone running the day. I can tell you from all of my years of experience that the size of the Wedding matters less than you would think. Are you still having a ceremony? Need to have a rehearsal? Hiring vendors that need a point of contact? Need someone to create a timeline for the day or a floor-plan? Are you having personal decor (gift and guestbook table, decor on guest tables, welcome signs)? Need someone to manage the day and make sure it goes smoothly (and handle any issues so you can relax and Enjoy Your Wedding)?!

You get where I’m going here. If you are having a wedding ESPECIALLY somewhere that is not a venue, you will need someone to guide you on all of the things that you might not be thinking about (potties? Parking?) Yes, guest count is important but most likely you have never done this before (🙋🏼‍♀️We have!)
